The first is access: Bybit blocks retail traders in the United States and Canada, so a large English-speaking audience simply cannot use it. The second is nerves: in 2025 Bybit suffered the largest single theft in crypto history from a cold wallet. Users were made whole and withdrawals never closed, which is to Bybit's credit — but a reader who wants to never have that conversation again is entitled to shop elsewhere.
Bybit's strengths are derivatives liquidity, copy trading and a polished interface, so the honest question is which of those you are willing to give up. Copy trading in particular narrows the field sharply: only a few venues do it well, and none of the US-available exchanges do it at all.
